Here's something intereresting for radio fans.    The record was sent out to radio stations as a public service announcement on behalf of the Civil Air Patrol, which was a popular SWL-ing target in the 50s and 60s with daily nets and other radio operations on the HF bands.    Many hams also were CAP members, combining aviation and other skills with radio communications.

As an added treat, the recording is Ira Ironstrings and his Orchestra, which was a pseudonym used by Alvino Rey, W6UK.    Instead of his trademark "talking steel guitar",  he played the banjo on the Ira records.
