I AM VERY SORRY TO BE INFORMING ALL MCRN STATIONS THAT WE LOST ANOTHER LONG TIME NET MEMBER

WHO FAITHFULLY SERVED AS A NET CONTROL OPERATOR

FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS

JOHN, K9QET

PASSED AWAY EARLY TUESDAY MARCH 14th

HE WAS A DEAR FRIEND TO MANY

AND

I'M SURE THAT MOST OF YOU, LIKE MYSELF, HAVE SHARED MANY WONDERFUL QSOs

AND IN-PERSON MEETINGS WITH JOHN.

MAYBE AT RADIO EVENTS OR AT HIS SHACK OR POSSIBLY YOU WERE EVEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE ENTERTAINED BY HIS BASS GUITAR PLAYING.

I ASK ALL STATIONS STAND-BY

AND CONSIDER THIS FINAL CALL

AS OUR HAM RADIO VERSION OF A

MILITARY FINAL SALUTE

SUCH AS: A MISSING JET ON A FLY-OVER FORMATION

OR A

RIDERLESS HORSE

PLEASE CONTINUE TO STAND-BY FOR

THE HAM RADIO OPERATOR'S FINAL CALL.

3 CALLS TO K9QET

HAVING NO RESPONSE,

LET IT BE KNOWN

BY ALL STATIONS

THAT THE EARTHLY TRAVELS

OF

JOHN G. LORENTZ

WHO IS KNOWN TO MEMBERS

OF THE AMATEUR RADIO FRATERNATY

AS

____JOHN K9QET___

ARE NOW STILLED

AND HIS STATION HAS SILENCED.
